My husband and I purchased our first home in the summer of 2023, so I can attest to the outrageous home prices in our state. The lack of supply has not only made homeownership expensive and out of reach for most people, but it's also changed the landscape of buying a home. Sellers have all the leverage; many refused to consider our offer if we wanted an inspection, for instance. A home we viewed outside Concord received 50+ offers. It was purely a numbers game, and the process was incredibly dehumanizing. I'm incredibly grateful for our home, but in the end, we paid $15,000 over-asking for less than 800 square feet and learned immediately after closing that the house needs serious structural repair. I say all this to add to the conversation around housing. This bill would encourage more home construction and make it more affordable for young people and families. Please consider supporting this bill to help pave a path to homeownership for more Granite Staters. Thank you, Sierra Hubbard
