As an MSW student, this is going to impact large swathes of the population. It is my duty to dissent to bad policy, and this will do nothing except hurt the general public. Individuals who do not conform to gender norms or who are 'transgender' suffer the greatest risks of physical harm when they have to use bathrooms and the like of the gender they are assigned at birth. There is an argument that individuals make that transgender female will use going to the bathrooms and the like as a tool for predation. This, however, is a farce with no empirical data to suggest such a thing. In fact, victims of sexual assault and abuse are more often than not individuals who know their perpetrator.
