I oppose this bill for the following reasons: 1. Because the bill applies to all cities and towns, it undermines the local Master Plan process where residents, not the legislature, creates a vision for the type and size of housing lots desired in their towns - thereby removing residents’ abilities to shape and advocate for their town’s character . 2. Maximum housing lot sizes will stress municipal budget resources necessary for the increased sewer, water and transportation infrastructure as well as for the schools, recreation areas and other public services (i..e. police, fire, public works) required by more housing lots in areas served by municipal infrastructure. 3. If this bill. Is intended to create more housing for workforce, it is silent on what %, if any, of the new housing created by the development community will be considered affordable for workers seeking housing. 4. If, like our Governor has stated, NH truly wants to refrain from becoming more like our neighbor to the south, then SB84 is not going to discourage cookie cutter housing development.
