We should not use the legislature to limit freedom of expression or control the identities of our citizenry. Furthermore, we should not pass legislation that is not reasonable to enforce without extreme violations of privacy. Are you truly going to expect law enforcement to inspect the genitalia of our citizens to confirm if they are using appropriate facilities? Do you want to task our public servants with determining someone's biological sex if they are one of the many people who are intersex in some form? Do you want to live in a state where we are dictating by law how people identify and participate in public life? Whether or not you have concerns about the role of trans people in our society, I hope you see the extreme wrong that could be perpetrated by legislation like this. Thank you for considering my perspective.
