These kinds of bills make me ashamed of my state. Surely, our state government has more important issues before it than taking away rights and freedom from a tiny sliver of the population. History will look back on this period and compare it to the "communist scare" and other culture wars - and history will see that a small minority wreaked havoc on American rights and freedoms by whipping up a panic over non-existent problems. This bill also opens the door further to "bathroom bills". All over the USA, there are already many cases where women have been challenged over their use of a bathroom because someone thought they didn't look feminine enough to be a woman, and have involved security officers and law enforcement - only to discover a cisgender, AFAB (assigned female at birth) woman. It even happened in the US Capitol building when Rep Nancy Mace caused an uproar over "A man in the women's bathroom!" It turned out to be one of her fellow US Congresswomen. Can you imagine that happening to you or a woman you know? "I thought you looked more like a man than a woman so I called the police to stop you from using the restroom"... These bathroom bills are violating the rights of people they allegedly are designed to "protect". Don't let New Hampshire become one of those states that people joke about.
