Elizabeth Beeson | Oppose HB524

The NHVA is a not-for-profit voluntary corporation. It does not set vaccine policy or create vaccine laws for NH. This program has saved the state of NH, providers, and patients approximately over $10 million per year, or $230 million over the life of the program. Repealing the NHVA would shift vaccine procurement to individual providers (hospitals and clinics) who have a lack of collective bargaining power which will lead to higher vaccine costs for providers and insurers, reducing overall efficiency and potentially increasing healthcare expenses for patients. It will cost the taxpayers of NH more money every year. As a parent, I am horrified that this is even being considered, even as measles and other communicable diseases are on the rise throughout the country. We cannot go back on this. There is absolutely no valid reason to do so.
