An adequate education costs more than the NH Legislature is trying to say it does. All students should have the same resources for a good education. NH communities depend on property taxes to fund public schools. The discrepancy in funding between communities that are tax poor and those that are tax wealthy was equalized by the Claremont cases. The NH Judicial Branch has defined an adequate education. NH should continue to be responsible for the necessary funding.
