I strongly oppose this bill which would put the Office of the Consumer Advocate under the Dept. of Energy which is run by political appointees. The Office of Consumer Advocate needs to be non-partisan and serve as the advocate for consumers on a number of issues including electrical rates. The Consumer Advocate needs to be independent and speak to the Public Utilities Commission free of any partisan influences.
