The Office of the Consumer Advocate is crucial in ensuring that the needs and concerns of utility ratepayers are represented in the regulation of our utility system. Abolishing the Office of the Consumer Advocate is against the interests of ratepayers and would further permit the energy grid, in particular, to be run according to the interests of the profit-driven corporations that operate the grid, rather than according to the interests and needs of consumers.
