I would ask each Repulican committee member to consider just one question: If you truly believes in the states "Live Free or Die" motto, how can you justify removing the personal liberty of a person to make decisions about their own body? As a state we allow for many objectively risky behaviors. Our laws allow for motorcyclists to ride without helmets .and drivers to drive without car insurance. Surely a decision involving bodily autonomy made with careful consideration from families and doctors presents far less risk.
