The Office of the Consumer Advocate has a good track record in keeping tabs on factors driving NH's high electricity rates and constructively bringing them to the PUC rate cases. Scaling back the staffing of this office puts utility rates at risk and is certainly not in the best interests of consumers. As a consumer it is important to me that there is an advocate for ratepayers that is not beholden to either the public utilities or the political appointees of the state agencies, such as the Department of Energy. It ain't broke so don't mess with it!
