I strongly opposed this legislation. A minor's decision to undergo any medical procedure is an individual decision that is between the minor, the minor's parent/guardian, and the minor's doctor(s). This bill seeks to bar treatments that are backed by science. Treatments that are evidence-based. Treatments that are not undertaken lightly by doctors, patients, or parents, and it is up to THEM, not the NH legislature, to determine on a case-by-case basis whether the treatment is appropriate and necessary for a particular minor. For some children, this is essential, and even life-saving, care. Stop trying to interfere with the rights of parents to determine what medical care may be best for their child.
