This might have unintended consequences for the Profile School District, which is comprised of the Bethlehem School District (Bethlehem) and the Lafayette School District (Franconia, Easton, Sugar Hill). The Profile board has seven members, four from Bethlehem, and three from Lafayette. The Lafayette seats are NOT designated to "belong" to any particular town, so it is possible that one year there might be two candidates vying for a seat: one from Easton, and one from Sugar Hill, and NONE from Franconia. So does Franconia (which has over half of the population of the Lafayette district) not get to vote that year? Perhaps Profile is not considered a "Cooperative" school district, but I hope that the Committee will be very careful that this bill will not results in any of the Lafayette towns losing their right to vote.
