Dear Members of the House Science, Technology, & Energy Committee, I am writing to express my strong support for HB 761, which establishes clear rules for customer energy storage systems and ensures that energy storage can be included in net metering policies. As a resident of Kensington who has fully electrified my home and vehicles, I see firsthand the critical role energy storage plays in managing electricity costs and improving grid resilience. Energy storage allows homeowners and businesses to store excess solar energy, reducing strain on the grid and lowering electricity bills. With rising electricity costs in New Hampshire, ensuring that customers have the right to install and use energy storage will help make energy independence more accessible and affordable. Furthermore, integrating storage into net metering will enhance the financial viability of solar investments, encouraging more residents and businesses to adopt clean energy solutions. By passing HB 761, the Legislature can support policies that give consumers more control over their energy use, reduce peak demand on the grid, and promote a more stable and cost-effective energy system. I urge you to vote in favor of this bill. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Zeke Schmois Kensington, NH
