I oppose for the following: ? Open enrollment creates haves and have-nots. Rather than focusing on providing local, high-quality schools for every student, open enrollment policies shift the burden to families. ? Open enrollment doesn’t solve the root causes of inequitable educational outcomes. Research shows that when schools are well-resourced, student outcomes improve significantly. ? The funding of the state’s public schools is the education policy issue of the decade and a critical avenue to ensuring all students and families have access to robust and equitable systems for learning and opportunity.
