Dear Committee Members, Please strongly oppose HB 314 that will overwhelmingly disenfranchise the public and some of our most knowledgeable and responsible officials and public advocacy professionals, blocking them from speaking for the public benefit in their areas of expertise. The bill is a tremendous affront to our cherished democratic ideals of citizen engagement and participation. We must rely on your thoughtful consideration to prevent the damage this repressive bill would bring in our communities and society.
