This bill would be a common sense approach to keep schools from overreaching their employment as educators into the realm of family life and medicine. School based clinics sound like a good idea, but they no longer stick to taking temperatures and putting on band-aids. Now, they overstep their bounds, without parental knowledge or consent, into areas such as mental illness, gender transitions, contraceptives, etc. Parents have been shocked to discover what these people believe is their right to interfere in the family life and override the values of the families whose children attend public school. Perhaps this is one of the many abuses that has caused home schooling to soar. Parents finding out that the school has been quietly trans-gendering their child, or has put their child on anti-depressants without their knowledge, etc. has shown up more and more in the news. For the cases that have come to light, there is no doubt that many more have remained hidden. My only change to this Bill would be that school based clinics can do NOTHING without parental notification and consent and if it comes to light that they have done so, they should be fired and fined $500 at least. Schools need to KEEP OUT of family business and they need to KNOW what is and is not any of their business.
