I oppose this bill to strip New Hampshire Fish and Game (NHFG) of it's direct control and oversight of hunting, fishing, and trapping in New Hampshire. For many years, NHFG has worked hard to conserve and protect natural resources for use by the general public. It is my opinion that NHFG has done an exceptional job of stewarding our state's resources and putting the interest of the general public first in matters concerning access to waters and land for hunting/fishing. As an avid angler, I have interacted with members of NHFG in regards to access to public waters and information about water quality. All of these interactions have been pleasant and helpful, and demonstrated the aptitude of this department. I believe this organization is doing its job well, and stripping it of power and putting it in the hands of an "executive director" would be a poor decision for the future of hunting, fishing, and conservation in our state.
