If passed, this bill would cause unnecessary barriers to equitable access to vaccines for the children of our state. It would also put additional strain on our already thinly stretched healthcare system. With declining vaccination rates, the subsequent rise of vaccine preventable illnesses, short-staffed hospitals and limited options for pediatric inpatient care, it is baffling to me that anyone would propose to put in place such a barrier to accessing vaccines.
