Once again, we see the republicans showing us that the cruelty is the point. This bill is written in a way to hide behind fiscal responsibility when in reality it will actively hurt our children and immunocompromised citizens. The existing process allows for a simplified process for patients, health care providers, and payers. Abolishing the NHVA will succeed in complicating the process of children receiving vaccinations and also add potentially significant barriers for lower income children receiving this critical care. Have the sponsors of this bill considered the implications for fewer children receiving vaccinations? Implications such as illness, hospitalizations, and deaths. Again, the cruelty is the point hidden behind buzzwords like “small government” and “fiscal responsibility”.
