I do not support this bill. The Fish and Game Commission has done a great job managing the wildlife within the state. One individual should not hold the power over the duties of this commission, which has done a great job managing season dates and limits. This bill will provide no checks and balances, leaving various counties without a voice regarding what is best for their seasons and limits. If passed, this could be one of two ways, ultimately resulting in the instability of this area of regulation. An example would be one individual who slashes out various hunting seasons, limits, and species to the point that it decimates the hunting and fishing communities—a community that is the founder of wildlife conservation. Or you could have an individual who deregulates everything to the point that it scales back any conservation efforts in increasing certain populations to levels sustainable by New Hampshire ecosystems.
