Alice Ely | Oppose HB314

This bill seems to go against everything that New Hampshire says it stands for -- local control AND live free or die. While I understand not wanting lobbyists from outside of New Hampshire coming into our state with their big budgets and expensive watches to convince you, our representatives, to pass legislation that benefits their funders and not us, I object to treating our own local leaders as if they would act in bad faith and not in the interest of me, my family, and my community. When representatives of local governments and related officials offer you their assessments of how proposed legislation will effect their ability to do what is needed at the local level, they are not acting as lobbyists. They are actually doing their jobs. I ask you to vote this bill Inexpedient to Legislate.... and then let this idea die. It's undemocratic and very un-New Hampshire.
