I oppose HB647, relative to the fee for a newborn hunting and fishing license. If passed, newborn licenses would be priced in the same manner as every other age group. The 1-16 year old age group is significantly more expensive than the price for a newborn license. This increase will negatively impact the lower income families in our great state of New Hampshire as the cost will become prohibitive for many. Newborn licenses are a unique gift for new parents to help instill a love for New Hampshire’s treasured wilderness in future generations and should be protected.
