In our current sociopolitical climate, the censorship of "obscenity" is an extremely slippery slope to censorship of any sexual or gender identity that contrasts with accepted heteronormative standards. When even the discussion of LGBT identities is considered obscene by certain extremely vocal and vitriolic bodies, filters designed to block "obscenity" will inevitably lead to censorship of LGBT resources and information. Teenagers are always going to find workarounds in the pursuit of information; dismantling their ability to safely do so in the interest of "protecting" them is only going to landslide into mass censorship and continued oppression of vulnerable minorities.
