As a healthcare professional, I disagree with the concept that pharmacy employees can refuse to provide the contraceptive prescriptions. Also the concept of limiting the roles of, for example, emergency physicians/ primary care providers to provide referrals to other providers for the above listed patient needs. This bill encompasses more than is needed. I know of no cases where a health care provider has chosen a role in employment where that person has to provide services they object to. Hospitals have a variety of resources that providers can use, such as Boards of Ethics, or Board of Ethics members, to help in those instances.
