OPPOSE HB635 – Targeting Nonprofits that Aid Immigrants Dear Members of the House Taxation Committee, I strongly oppose HB635, which would tax nonprofit organizations that assist immigrants, effectively treating them as for-profit businesses. This bill is a thinly veiled attack on charities and community organizations that provide essential services. The bill also raises concerns over vague definitions and the creation of a bounty system, which could encourage harassment and discrimination against those providing humanitarian aid. Taxing nonprofits in this way sets a dangerous precedent and hurts the most vulnerable members of our communities. I urge you to vote NO on HB635 and protect the integrity of nonprofit organizations that serve our communities. Sincerely, Sean Devlin
