Requesting a voter to provide identification when requesting an absentee ballot is antiquated, unnecessary, and obstructive to the voter. Absentee ballots are well protected by the affidavit the voter signs and includes with the ballot sent back to the town clerk. Too any steps in the process prohibits efficiency, bogs down voters and is disincentive.
