Electric renewable portfolio standards are important. Climate Change is real. It is not something to be believed, or not believed, like religion. It is fact. And it is deadly, and it is caused by humans. We are jeopardizing our lives and we are certainly jeopardizing the lives of our children by not addressing it. We need to do as much as we can as fast as we can to stop burning fossil fuels and move to clean sources of electricity. That is why these portfolios are important. They require that a specified percentage of the electricity utilities sell comes from renewable resources and we need to move as quickly as we can to having ALL of our electricity coming from renewable sources. The American people are concerned about climate change and they want their legislators to act on this concern and fix this problem. It is an incredibly hard problem to solve, but it can be done. Removing renewable portfolio standards is a huge step in the wrong direction and it should not be pursued.
