Graham Baker | Oppose HB392

This bill is unwarranted and premature at this time. Per the Bill's own wording, it states that the position to be eliminated manages disposition of over $5M of federal funds and grants. It would be much more reasonable to consider elimination of this position AFTER cessation of the incoming funds, not PRIOR to that. This is an attempt by bill authors to put the cart before the horse! Additionally, the provision in this Bill to attempt to prohibit restoration of this position in perpetuity is extremely foolish and shortsighted. Any attempt to pass a Bill which explicitly prohibits potential future acknowledgement of changing funding sources is extremely shortsighted. This foolish Bill is simply an attempt by shortsighted idealogues to advance their own personal philosophy without regard for standard principles of management and good stewardship of public funds, and does not deserve any further consideration by the House or Senate.
