I strongly oppose this proposed bill that would allow healthcare / Medical workers to refuse to provide care based on their personal beliefs. Compromises Patient Care: This bill jeopardizes patient access to essential medical care, potentially leading to delays, denials of treatment, and even harm. Patients deserve timely and compassionate care without discrimination. Undermines Professional Ethics: Healthcare professionals have an ethical obligation to provide competent and non-discriminatory care to all patients, regardless of their own personal beliefs. This bill undermines these fundamental ethical principles. Creates Systemic Inequity: This bill could disproportionately impact marginalized communities, such as LGBTQ+ individuals and women seeking reproductive healthcare, by limiting their access to critical medical services. Erodes Trust in the Healthcare System: Allowing healthcare workers to refuse care based on personal beliefs erodes trust in the healthcare system and can create a climate of fear and discrimination for patients. Healthcare should be based on medical necessity and patient well-being, not on the personal beliefs of individual providers
