I oppose the elimination of the electric renewable portfolio standard. (Or I support keeping the electric renewable portfolio standard.) Repealing the renewable portfolio standard will stop any progress that we've made to reduce fossil fuel use, which is simply idiotic and suicidal. The states around us are building out electric infrastructure, and all those Massachusetts tourists may opt for VT instead of NH if they cannot charge their EVs while on vacation in NH. Norway went all in on EV charging and shifted its car fleet to over 70% electric in less than a decade. My family has bought an EV, and while we installed a charger at home, we'd like to be able to go up the mountains we love on weekends; charging stations should be wherever people park for an hour: grocery stores, big box stores, hotels & restaurants, hiking spots, ski areas. This is a cheap way to boost tourism in NH. We must also continue encouraging residential and commercial solar because it reduces the pressure on our fossil fuel power plants, especially during peak times. We have rooftop solar.
