Dear Members of the NH Science, Technology, and Energy Committee: Please REJECT any efforts to repeal or weaken HB 218-FN. PROTECT the Renewal Portfolio Standard: Economic Growth & Investment: The RPS program provides certainty and assures investment decisions in both new and existing in-state renewable resources. Stable & Predictable Energy Costs: The RPS helps shield New Hampshire residents and businesses from volatile global energy prices. Energy Independence & Fuel Diversity: The program promotes a diverse range of renewable energy sources, protecting us from disruptions in any single fuel supply. Ongoing Operations: Revenue from the Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) is essential for maintaining the safe and reliable operation of renewable generation facilities while ensuring there are economic benefits stemming from operations both at the facility and supply chain level. . The need for clean, locally-sourced energy has never been greater, and we should be more determined than ever to move our state forward.
