We support both HB-707 and HR-10 as residents of NH's north country for more than 60 years. Our environment now has the possibility of becoming the dumping ground for a massive landfill for an unlimited supply of out of state waste. The developer has the option to purchase approximately 1700 acres very close to the pristine Forest Lake on which we own the island. The proposed developer of the landfill has had numerous failings with his landfill in nearby Bethlehem as well as poor relationship. with town leaders. In closing we believe the proposed site is inappropriate and at the very least both HB-707 and HR-10 would establish better safeguards for such a wonderful north country environment.
