I wholly support this bill. Towns should not be suddenly saddled with the maintenance and upkeep of a state road that happens to be within the town borders without the approval of the residents of said town. Doing so would cause a severe financial strain on the town budget which could not adequately be borne by the residents resulting in undue hardship in many cases. These state roads are used by many residents of New Hampshire, not just the residents of the town they happen to be in. The costs of maintaining these roads should remain the responsibility of the state.
