I am opposed to this bill that seeks to phase out NH's Renewable Portfolio Standard. The RPS has been key to diversifying energy sources in NH, increasing the state's energy independence and resilience, and supporting local jobs and our economy. The RPS has led to municipal and other regional energy projects, and Renewable Energy Certificates support continuation of diversity in our renewable energy sources. I am concerned about electricity price rises due to increasing customer charges for transmission and distribution, which the elimination of the RPS would not address.
