This bill would phase out NH's Renewable Portfolio Standard. Please oppose this bill. It will do significant harm to clean energy projects in our state at a time when we should be doing more clean energy projects to address climate change and protect our children's futures. The Renewable Portfolio Standard promotes economic growth by encouraging the expansion of the clean energy sector in NH, helps protect NH residents against the volatility of global energy prices, and helps us secure diverse and independent energy sources right here at home. I agree that the cost of energy is a problem for many NH ratepayers, but the issue is not the source of energy; it is the distribution system. So if we are concerned about costs for NH citizens we should focus on innovations in the distribution system, not getting rid of the Renewable Portfolio Standard. Thank you for your consideration.
