School Budget Capping Costs Please find below the letter I sent to the Governor 1-21st 2025, Dear Governor Ayotte, I recently read your opinion on localities setting limits on taxes imposed by school boards vs. state involvement. I respectfully disagree with this. I have attended several school board meetings in Brookline, NH. I have found those in favor of an increase , read "Progressives", to be arrogant, condescending and nasty. Furthermore, the meeting is stacked against the fiscally minded by a very wide margin. Talk of capping or reducing taxes is immediately and unabashedly ridiculed making further discussion impossible. At present, my taxes are out of control at a level that simply cannot be sustained. Enrollment is down while taxes continue to climb....these are hallmarks of a democrat administration. My husband and I voted for you in November, and, as constituents, we hope you will seriously reconsider your stance on intervening on this matter. We are retired and live on a fixed income, yet we are forced to pay the entire amount of school taxes! Perhaps it's time to give long overdue tax relief to those of us who " have no skin in this game." At any rate, your help is indeed needed in resolving this matter as dealing with localities has proven to be a dismal failure! Please do not pass the buck! Respectfully, Jacqueline Wachowski
