I strongly support this bill. It is already very difficult for people of lower income to find housing. Increasing the supply of affordable housing is one of many crucial steps to reducing homelessness. I think often of my mom who did a great job raising me, but now even though she works hard at her job, struggles to make enough money to afford rent. I know eventually my mom will have to move in with me, and I would like to have an accessory dwelling unit for her to move into. I know there are many others in a situation like mine. I'm not sure if I specifically would qualify for this program, but I think it is important for even folks who make less money to be able to build ADUs for their houses to house friends or family in need. There are real, hardworking Americans who are struggling to find housing. We should do anything we can to help them.
