I would be testifying in person today, but unfortunately my car broke down on Sunday and without any public transportation I am prevented from testifying in person. Last year I testified before the NH Health and Human Services Committee. In my testimony I highlighted public comments of then vice-chair Representative Erica Layon in which she complained about eclipse related traffic. I wondered how anyone could complain about car traffic when there are no alternative means of transportation. Instead of looking into trains or other public transportation, Representative Layon has chosen to advance a bill to prevent any passenger rail from ever improving the lives of New Hampshire's citizens. This isn't even a case of merely hitting pause on specific projects for further review, but a blanket prohibition on passenger rail, ensuring anyone unfortunate enough to not own a car is crippled in their ability to travel throughout New Hampshire.
