Please support HR13 opposing the permitting of a landfill next to Forest Lake State Park. As a cancer survivor in the same town as the Coakley Landfill, I can't believe a landfill next to Forest Lake State Park is even being considered. Landfills aren't perfectly contained no matter how hard we try. Coakley Landfill is an ongoing mess that decades later is still causing health concerns and costly to surrounding communities. We need to protect the health of our citizens, groundwater and lakes. We need to look closely at the benefits of protecting our environment vs the financial and human costs of making short-sighted decisions for quick financial gain. Remediations are expensive bandaids...let's start with prevention. Sincerely, Jennifer King
