Children should be treated equally and fed equally to their peers, regardless of their parent's ability to pay lunch bills. I am a therapist who has worked with kids and who does work with many parents with major mental illness, who also struggle with finances, or stability of their MH or anxiety to meet with people who could help them pay their lunch bills. There are so many reasons a bill may not get paid, and regardless the kid needs to eat and not be shamed.
