I strongly oppose this bill. I worked as an attorney within this field in MA and saw many abuses of power. Social workers cared not a bit for our Constitutional Rights and it seemed that new weak thresholds for taking one's children were constantly being added. Mental health is a 'soft science', yet it was always grounds for taking children. Medical neglect became a reason if children were unvaccinated - although there are parents who do not believe in vaccination. I know some and their children are very healthy. Beyond that, when I was born in the 1960's only 3 vaccines were required. Now, the number of vaccines requires boggles the mind and with just a small review of the charts (link below) one can see through to the dollar signs in between. We are subjecting our children to becoming guinea pigs and threatening to take children unless the parents agree and hold their breath and pray to God that their children don't suffer vaccine injuries (of which there are many). https://organiclifestylemagazine.com/more-doctors-against-vaccineshttps://x.com/Wellness_WOW/status/1587089614589677578 - Additionally, we are discovering that there is big money for doctors who prescribe the drugs that Big Pharma is making. https://www.propublica.org/article/we-found-over-700-doctors-who-were-paid-more-than-a-million-dollars-by-drug-and-medical-device-companies Along with is fear for parents is the new right for children to transition when they want to and making it 'abusive' when parents won't honor the wishes of their children in this area. https://www.californiafamily.org/2023/09/ca-legislators-pass-bill-to-take-children-from-parent-who-doesnt-affirm-kids-gender-identity/. and https://nypost.com/2019/10/23/texas-jury-rules-against-divorced-dad-trying-to-stop-7-year-old-sons-gender-transition/ As social values change, parental rights are decreasing due to social services interference. These cases show the great width and flexibility that CPS has when it comes to taking children and the list is growing every day. It is dangerous to families to allow CPS to have lenient guardrails. Parents and children need to be protected from the ever growing list of what can be seen as 'abuse and neglect' by those who make their living by having a steady stream of children 'in need' of their protection. Foster care is known to be riddled with just as many abuses as homes children are taken from. While there are definitely children who need care and protection, the ever growing list of what qualifies as abuse/neglect and the ever thinning threshold to meet those criteria is frightening. I urge you to vote NO on any bill that lessens protection for families and/or lowers the threshold that CPS must meet in order to take children. If they have a case, let them bear it out.
