While increasing the base aid from the state for public schools is sorely needed, this aid should be provided with "no strings attached" other than adhering to state DOE regulations for curriculum, inclusion, providing a free and appropriate public education, etc. New Hampshire is a state that prides itself on local control. Any bill that includes limits on what local municipalities can and cannot enact at a budgetary level when voted on by residents is certainly not in the spirit of local control.
