An optometrist education is simply incompatible with and insufficient for ophthalmic surgical procedures. The industry accrediting persons for these procedures is American Academy of Ophthalmology; not optometry. There are RISKS and SIDE-EFFECTS for these procedures which are challenges even for ophthalmologists.
