I strongly oppose this bill and call for it to be voted ITL. While the sponsors may have "good intentions" of protecting children, the effect of this bill will make criminals of many good parents. "Necessary care", "necessary food", and "necessary medical care" are not properly defined, leaving it up to government to decide. At risk are those who care for the health of their child by feeing them a vegetarian, vegan, carnivore, or gluten-free diet, diets that some may find objectionable. At risk are those who protect their children from vaccines, perhaps just one vaccine, perhaps many, perhaps all. Any one who asserts a religious exemption to vaccination is at risk of being deemed a criminal under this bill. At risk are those parents who choose alternative, holistic medical therapies and diets as the better, healthier alternative to allopathic care rejecting for example immune system suppressing steroids, or dangerous drugs intended to control thoughts and emotions. Please vote this bill ITL.
