I have lived on Pawtuckaway Lake for 5 years and unfortunately the yearly water testing done here has reflected an ongoing increase of phosphorus. I believe one of the reasons is too many people use the lake as their dumping ground instead of hauling the debris away from the water. Additionally, there is a local farm that abuts the lake and there appears to be runoff from their property where there is always a higher concentration of phosphorus in that area. I believe that any type of repercussion for those behaviors would lessen the frequency of these actions.
