The New Hampshire Conservation District Climate Resilience Grant Program has supported local farmers with techniques, equipment and resources to sustain their livelihoods for the past couple of years. I think that the state of New Hampshire needs to continue funding this effort. I recall looking at an atlas in my elementary school's library that identified the natural products being produced in New Hampshire were hayfields, orchards, dairy and maple syrup groves. Climate change has exacerbated not only traditional farming of the 19th and 20th centuries, it has also has a negative effect on the new paradigm and products of today. Clearly we as a state need to facilitate the new age of farming by passing and continuing the funding for adaptive agriculture in midst climate change.
