I am writing on behalf of the Manchester School Board, which has authorized me to advocate for the funding of equitable state programs to assist localities with public school construction, renovation, and major maintenance projects. We are unanimous in our support of increased building aid as proposed in HB366. The average age of our school buildings in Manchester is 75 years old, and with much deferred maintenance, we are at the beginning of a long-term facilities plan that will include the construction of a new elementary school, as well as much-needed renovation projects covering most of the existing school buildings in the district. State building aid is desperately needed in these endeavors and we urge you to support this bill. Thank you for your consideration.
