John Petit | Support HB366

The state should increase school building aid this legislative session. HB366 is a good beginning. My town, Litchfield, is on the wait list for a new elementary school. It did not pass at the March 2023 vote. Construction costs are a lot to deal with and with New Hampshire property tax rates among the very highest in the country, new school buildings are very challenging to get local approval. The state must set aside even more money than called for in HB366 and I hope consideration will be given to increasing the lowest percentage funded from 30% to at least 40% and ensuring the most recent construction cost calculations are included.as close to the date of the local vote as possible. Thank you.
