I have been a property owner on Silver Lake since 1998 and cherish every minute I spend on it. In recent years we have experienced concerning changes, including erosion and a cyanobacteria bloom. There have been violations of shoreline protection regulations, but the fines are so low they don't deter people from behavior which compromises the health and cleanliness of the lake. We hope that the legislature will step in to prohibit the disposal of yard waste and will penalize people in a way that discourages this behavior and fosters a culture of lake preservation.
